Day 1 — Drive to Paro; trek to Shana
- Drive to Paro (if starting from Thimphu), trek 3–4 hrs through pine/rhododendron forest to campsite near Shana. Altitude ~2,800–3,000 m. Overnight camp/lodge.
Day 2 — Shana to Jimilangtsho (lake)
- Trek 4–5 hrs, cross ridges with good views; arrive at Jimilangtsho (high mountain lake). Altitude ~3,400 m. Overnight camp.
Day 3 — Jimilangtsho to Jangchulakha / high pass area
- Trek 5–6 hrs, cross the highest pass on route (scenic lakes and panoramas), descend to Jangchulakha high camp. Altitude up to ~3,800–4,000 m. Overnight camp.
Day 4 — Jangchulakha to Simkotra / descent towards Thimphu
- Trek 4–6 hrs descending through alpine meadows and forests toward the Thimphu valley. Reach lower campsite/guesthouse near trail end. Overnight.
Day 5 — Final descent to Thimphu (or drive to Paro)
- Short morning walk/drive into Thimphu for departure or sightseeing. End of trek.

- Typical daily walking 3–6 hours; altitudes ~2,500–4,000 m.
- Weather and trail conditions may change the route and stops. Pack warm layers, rain gear, good boots, and water purification.
